Who is the man that's no myth and not much of a legend?
Hi, I'm Corbin, a man with everything to prove and everything to gain, not unlike many of my student colleagues at Linn Benton Community College where I am currently enrolled and working towards an Accounting & Finance degree.
I work as a part time tax accountant in downtown Lebanon and appear to be what most would consider a stereotypical accountant, as many people have told me in the past. This is not a title I attempt to slough off though, as I find it is fitting.
I'm currently taking a marketing class which is the reason you may stumble upon this blog in the first place! While I enrolled in this class primarily for the required credit, I am also interested to interact with people of similar majors and want to learn more about how marketing works and what I can do to market myself to others and especially to businesses that may want to hire me. I think marketing is an interesting subject primarily because of the psychological aspect of it. The way that marketing targets people's subconscious is really fascinating to me and it is interesting to learn in what ways people who are in the marketing industry will attempt to reach out to new people groups.
Not only am I passionate about the work that I do, I also love playing games with friends and bowling in my free time with my dad. I spent my childhood either watching my dad play games or playing them myself, often with my brother, competing to see who was better (he used to be good but I'm way better than him now). Video games, board games, card games, word games, and everything in between are often my forte. Finesse games like bowling, billiards and ping pong are games that I'll play whenever I have the chance. Unfortunately that means I'm pretty good at them and less people will play against me as they don't want to sign up to lose.
My family owns 5 cats, 3 of which are still kittens: (seen below) JakJak (orange), Dahlia (black), Megatron (gray). (Megatron was the one I named. I know, I'm a genius, hold your applause, please)
Lastly, and most importantly I am a Christian. This belief spills into all the other aspects of my life of course and changes how I live my life on a daily basis. I try to be supporting, loving, and truthful in my day by day endeavors. Holding my Christian beliefs above all else can often be something that others don't like but I am confident in them because my faith and ideals are not based on their opinions of how I should live my life. Instead, they are foundationally built on the things taught to me in the Bible.
All praise and glory to the Lord our God. God bless and keep us.
