The Veterans vs USAA

Image
USAA is a company that focuses on veterans and attempts to give them support. For those who don't know, USAA, it is an insurance agency that provides financial assistance to exclusively veterans. I saw a number of their ads while I was on Instagram the other day and decided to look through some of their content and comments to see what people thought about the company. I knew of USAA before as a couple of my friends' parents are military or ex-military and use their cards and some of the other services they provide.     Their one and only thing that they do is support veterans, which is kind of their whole value proposition too. It boils down to, "we hope to lift up the people and families associated with the military through financial support".       Despite this mission, lots of people don't like USAA and it seems that chief among them is military customers who used the service, which is disappointing to see. Marketing in the News: Mountain Dew's Rebrand

Mountain Dew's rebranding strategy interested me for a couple reasons. First off, I used to be a much bigger drinker of Mountain Dew and it was one of my favorites. He talked about the new image that Pepsi Co is putting on Mountain Dew cans starting next summer. Along with this he went over the design and pointed out some important details. In the article, he used

Who is the man that's no myth and not much of a legend?

Hi, I'm Corbin, a man with everything to prove and everything to gain, not unlike many of my student colleagues at Linn Benton Community College where I am currently enrolled and working towards an Accounting & Finance degree.       I work as a part time tax accountant in downtown Lebanon and appear to be what most would consider a stereotypical accountant, as many people have told me in the past. This is not a title I attempt to slough off though, as I find it is fitting.      I'm currently taking a marketing class which is the reason you may stumble upon this blog in the first place! While I enrolled in this class primarily for the required credit, I am also interested to interact with people of similar majors and want to learn more about how marketing works and what I can do to market myself to others and especially to businesses that may want to hire me. I think marketing is an interesting subject primarily because of the psychological aspect of it. The way that ma
